Mehul Choksi Caught! 106 Kg Gold, ₹30 Crore Cash & ₹128 Crore Fraud Exposed

Ahmedabad: After the successful extradition of Mumbai attack mastermind Tahawwur Rana, Mehul Choksi, who fled after looting the country's banks, has been arrested in Belgium. After the arrest in Belgium, the possibility of Mehul Choksi coming to India has increased. Meanwhile, Digvijay Singh Jadeja, a big jeweler from Gujarat, who had lodged an FIR four years before Mehul Choksi left the country, has made some revelations. Jadeja has expressed hope that the government led by PM Narendra Modi will definitely bring Mehul Choksi to India. According to Jadeja, Choksi did not only flee after defrauding Indian banks, but he also looted crores of rupees from many businessmen.

Had kept 106 kg of gold

On the arrest of Mehul Choksi in Belgium, Digvijay Jadeja, a resident of Bhavnagar, Gujarat, said that he had kept 106 kg of gold with Choksi's company as an investment and had given another 30 crores in cash. If seen in today's time, he has been accused of fraud of about 128 crores. He told that in 2010, this amount was given to Mehul Choksi in the name of franchise. But he has not got the franchise till date. According to Jadeja, the amount of scam committed by Mehul and Nirav Modi is many times more than 11400 crores. Jadeja had filed an FIR against Choksi in 2015. On the basis of this, a case was filed in Gujarat High Court. He had warned the government several times about the scams committed by Choksi, but nothing could be done.

    Choksi has 29 companies

Jadeja had also claimed in 2018 that he has a list of about 29 companies which Choksi used to operate. According to Jadeja, all the companies of Choksi abroad are running in profit while the Indian companies are being shown in loss so that tax can be saved and investors do not have to pay money. Jadeja had given an affidavit in the Gujarat High Court in 2016 in which it is said that Mehul Choksi owes about Rs 9872 crores, which is also mentioned on the website of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Due to this, Mehul Choksi is also likely to flee abroad like Vijay Mallya. Mehul Choksi's wife also has a flat in Dubai's posh Burj Khalifa. If he flees abroad, all the cases going on against him will be put on hold.

Now hope has arisen, I will give evidence

Digvijay Singh Jadeja says that Mehul Choksi is very clever. His agents are spread everywhere. Jadeja said, my appeal is that whoever is the investigating officer in this case, should conduct an impartial investigation. Jadeja said that I have evidence. I will give every evidence if asked. Mehul Choksi is likely to come to India soon. After Nirav Modi fled abroad, Choksi also fled by dodging. Congress has been targeting BJP on this issue. Jadeja has also alleged that the officer who was then ADGP in Gujarat had demanded Rs 70 lakh as bribe. Jadeja, however, did not reveal the name of the officer. Jadeja says that if action was taken on his complaint, this situation would not have arisen.
