Nitish Rana-Digvesh Rathi Clash in DPL Eliminator, Umpires Intervene

New Delhi: Nitish Rana's brilliant century gave West Delhi Lions victory in the eliminator match of Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025. However, this match also remained in the headlines due to a heated argument between Rana and spinner Digvesh Rathi. The fight between these players has created a ruckus on social media. Both the players are trending.

Rana's stormy century and controversy on the field

In this match played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Nitish Rana, playing for West Delhi Lions, played an unbeaten innings of 134 runs in 55 balls. His aggressive innings included 15 sixes and 8 fours. Thanks to Rana's stormy performance, West Delhi achieved the target of 202 runs in 17.1 overs by 7 wickets.

The tension between Rana and Rathi started when Rathi came to bowl in his first over. Rana hit a strong six, after which he moved aggressively towards Rathi and said some things to him. To calm this dispute, the players and match officials of both the teams had to intervene. The video of this incident immediately went viral on social media.

    What was the whole matter

Actually Digvesh Rathi was going to throw the ball when he felt that Nitish Rana was going to play a big shot on that ball, so he stopped. Nitish Rana did not like this. However, Rana did not say anything at that time. After this, when Digvesh Rathi got ready to throw the ball again, Nitish Rana moved away and he escalated the matter further. Rathi got ready to throw the ball again and Nitish Rana hit a long six on that ball.

Rana then copied Digvesh Rathi's style and signed his bat, seeing which Digvesh Rathi got angry and a heated argument broke out between the two players. Rathi, who also plays for Lucknow Super Giants, had a disappointing match. He gave away 39 runs in his two-over spell, out of which 38 runs were scored by Nitish Rana alone.
