Pahalgam Terror Attack Fallout: 48 Tourist Spots Closed in Kashmir, Govt Takes Big Security Step

Kashmir Pahalgam Terror Attack: After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the Omar Abdullah government has closed at least 48 resorts and tourist places. 26 people were massacred in the attack on 22 April.

Jammu and Kashmir has taken a big step after the massacre of Hindu tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. After the terrorist attack in Baisaran Valley, dozens of resorts and more than half of the tourist places in Kashmir have been closed. The Omar Abdullah government has taken this precautionary step after the death of 26 innocent civilians in the terrorist attack on 22 April in the beautiful valleys of Pahalgam.

The administration has closed at least 48 resorts so far. Apart from this, many places famous for tourists, such as Doodhpathri of Budgam and Verinag of Anantnag, have been declared restricted areas for tourists.

Jammu and Kashmir, famous for its beautiful valleys and mountains, is once again under the strict surveillance of security agencies. The administration says that this step has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the people and tourism activities will be resumed only when the situation becomes normal.

According to an official associated with the security force, other tourist places in the valley which are open have been kept under tight security.

Just a week ago, the market of Pahalgam was full of tourists, but now the number of tourists coming there has decreased significantly. Local people fear that this decrease in tourism will have a big impact on their income. The city has not yet recovered from the horrific incident that happened last week. At the same time, the local people also demonstrated condemning the terrorist attack and showed their solidarity with the victims.

After the Pahalgam attack, there is an atmosphere of fear among the tourists, due to which many people are canceling their trip or returning before time. The administration is keeping a close watch on the situation and all necessary security measures are being taken.
