PBKS Humble RCB at Home Again! Bowlers Dominate Rain-Hit Clash at Chinnaswamy

Bengaluru: In a rain-affected match, Punjab Kings showed a brilliant game and defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 5 wickets. RCB, who came out to bat first after losing the toss, was in bad shape at home. RCB, with the help of Tim David's unbeaten 50-run innings, somehow managed to score 95 runs in the stipulated 14 overs. In response, Punjab Kings chased the target and won the match by scoring 98 runs in 12.1 overs. This is Punjab Kings' 5th win in 7 matches. On the other hand, RCB has to face its third defeat this season. RCB has got all these three defeats at home.

The match started late due to rain at M Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium in Bengaluru. In the match, Punjab captain Shreyas Iyer decided to bowl first after winning the toss. In bowling, Arshdeep Singh gave his team a great start by taking a wicket in the very first over for Punjab. After the wicket in the first over, RCB's condition worsened.

    Punjab Kings batted cautiously

In the second back to back low scoring match, the Punjab Kings team started cautiously against RCB. Punjab got a target of only 96 runs, but despite this, opener batsmen Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya lost their wickets in a hurry. After this, captain Shreyas Iyer also could not do anything special. At one time, the Punjab Kings team was in trouble after losing 4 wickets for a score of 54 runs, but Nihal Badhera made the match one-sided by playing big shots against Suyash Sharma.

Nihal Badhera played an unbeaten innings of 33 runs for the team. In his innings, he also hit 3 sixes and 3 fours. Apart from this, Josh Inglis contributed 14 runs in 17 balls. At the same time, Priyansh Arya, who came to open, played an innings of 16 runs in 11 balls while Prabhsimran's innings ended at 13 runs. At the end, Marcus Stoinis finished the match by scoring 7 runs.

    Tim David saved RCB's honor

On one hand, RCB's batting was falling apart like a pack of cards against Punjab Kings at the M Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium, on the other hand, Tim David took charge alone and took the team to a respectable score. Tim David batted fast and remained unbeaten by scoring 50 runs in 26 balls. In this innings, he also hit 5 fours and 3 sixes. Apart from Tim David, no other player could perform well for RCB.

After Tim David, RCB captain Rajat Patidar was the only batsman who crossed the double-digit mark. Rajat Patidar was dismissed after scoring 23 runs in 18 balls. Apart from this, no other player including Virat Kohli could reach double figures. This is the reason why the RCB team could not even reach the score of 100 runs against Punjab.

    Punjab bowlers did wonders

In the match against RCB, Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer decided to bowl first after winning the toss. This decision of the captain was completely effective in Chinnaswamy. Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen, Yuzvendra Chahal and Harpreet Brar took two wickets each for Punjab. Apart from this, Xavier Bartlett also took 1 wicket.
