PBKS vs DC: Punjab Kings Fall Again Despite 206-Run Total, Delhi Seals Win

Jaipur: The losing streak of teams that have reached the playoffs of IPL 2025 continues. After Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings also had to face defeat. Delhi Capitals defeated Punjab Kings by 6 wickets at Sawai Man Singh Stadium. Playing first, Punjab Kings scored 206 runs for 8 wickets. Delhi Capitals won the match in the last over. Sameer Rizvi and Karun Nair were the heroes for Delhi with the bat. This was Delhi's last match in the season. The team finished 5th in the table with 15 points.

Sameer Rizvi hit an unbeaten fifty

Young batsman Sameer Rizvi hit his first fifty in IPL. Rizvi reached fifty in 22 balls. He remained unbeaten after scoring 58 runs in 25 balls. Rizvi hit 3 fours and 5 sixes in his innings. He finished the match by hitting a six off Marcus Stoinis's ball. Karun Nair scored 44 runs in 27 balls. He hit 5 fours and 2 sixes.

Iyer hit a fifty for Punjab

For Punjab Kings, Marcus Stoinis scored an unbeaten 44 off 16 balls and Shreyas Iyer scored 53 runs in 34 balls. Stoinis hit four sixes and three fours in his innings to take Punjab past 200 runs. Delhi got their first breakthrough soon when Priyansh Arya (six) was caught by wicketkeeper Tristan Stubbs off a short ball from Mustafizur Rahman. Josh Inglis started by hitting two fours off Mukesh Kumar while Prabhsimran Singh hit a four off Mustafizur.

Prabhsimran hit two fours off Mohit Sharma. In the last over of the powerplay, Inglis hit a six and a four off Viraj Nigam but then was deceived by a googly and Stubbs displayed a skillful stumping to send him back to the pavilion. He scored 32 runs off 12 balls. After this, Punjab captain Iyer came to the crease and opened his account with a four. Meanwhile, Prabhsimran hit a six off the very first ball of Kuldeep Yadav and then did not spare Nigam either. Nigam, however, ended his innings in the ninth over.

Despite this, Iyer did not get distracted and hit a six off Kuldeep Yadav in deep midwicket on a slog sweep. Nigam bowled an economical tenth over. Punjab had scored 97 runs for three wickets in ten overs. Mustafizur got Shashank Singh caught by Stubbs. However, Mukesh gave away 25 runs in the next over including two sixes, two fours and three extras. Kuldeep got Iyer caught by Mohit and sent him to the pavilion. Mohit had earlier dropped the catch of Stoinis who conceded 22 runs in his over.
