After this, on May 30 (Friday), the Defence Minister will go to the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, where he will talk to Navy officers and personnel. During Operation Sindoor, INS Vikrant was deployed in the Northern Arabian Sea as a full carrier battle group.
A clear message was given to Pakistan
During Operation Sindoor, the Indian Navy was forward deployed. The deployment of the Indian Navy had given a clear message to Pakistan that if Pakistan increases tension more, that is, if the situation escalates more, then the Navy's target is not only its warships but also Pakistan's land bases. Along with the aircraft carrier Vikrant, many warships were deployed in the Indian Navy's carrier battle group.
30 aircraft can be carried on one carrier
Let us tell you that aircraft carriers have both fighter jets and helicopters. More than 30 aircraft can be carried on an aircraft carrier. In the carrier battle group, there are submarines around the aircraft carrier, as well as 8 to 10 warships are also a part of it.
What is the price of INS Vikrant?
Let us tell you that INS Vikrant is India's first indigenous aircraft carrier. Its estimated cost is around Rs 20,000 crore. INS Vikrant has been designed by the Warship Design Bureau (WDB) of the Indian Navy. It has been built at Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), Kochi. About 30,000 tonnes of special grade steel has been used in its construction. It has been supplied by Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). It is made of indigenously developed DMR grade specialty steel. Up to 75% indigenous content has been used in its various parts.
