Rishabh Pant reacts after LSG’s fifth straight loss, calls for reset

New Delhi: The first Super Over of IPL 2026 took place between Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders. The match was incredibly thrilling, but victory ultimately went to Kolkata. KKR clinched the match in the Super Over. This was Lucknow's fifth consecutive defeat this season. With this loss, LSG has slumped to the bottom of the points table. For them, this season has been nothing short of a nightmare. Meanwhile, following the match, Captain Rishabh Pant made a significant statement.

What did Rishabh Pant say in his statement?

In his post-match statement, Lucknow captain Rishabh Pant said, "Look, I feel we are in dire need of a break. I believe it will help us refresh. There is always pressure, and every game will inevitably be a high-pressure contest. However, at the same time, we must look for answers within ourselves—not outside—and keep things simple. Every single individual needs to take responsibility. This cannot be a matter concerning just one or two people; it is the responsibility of the entire unit, and I am certain that many individuals will step up to take ownership of this."

Here is how the match unfolded:

Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and elected to bowl first against KKR. Batting first, Kolkata posted a total of 155 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
