    RR vs PBKS Highlights: Punjab Kings Beat Royals, One Win Away from Playoffs After 11 Years!

    Jaipur: After the disciplined batting of Nehal Wadhera and Shashank Singh, Punjab Kings defeated Rajasthan Royals by 10 runs with strong bowling. With the win in the 59th match of IPL 2025, the team of Punjab Kings has further strengthened their claim to reach the playoffs. This is Punjab Kings' 8th win out of 12 matches, one match of the team was washed out due to rain. With this better run, Punjab has now reached the second position in the points table with 17 points. Punjab will reach the playoffs for the first time since 2014.


    After winning the toss against Rajasthan at the Sawai Mansingh Cricket Stadium in Jaipur, the Punjab Kings team batted first and scored 219 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In response, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi made a quick start for Rajasthan, but despite this the team could only score 209 runs in 20 overs.


    Yashasvi and Jurel's efforts were in vain


    Rajasthan Royals had nothing left to lose in IPL 2025. However, despite this, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel put in all their effort to get their team to victory. Yashasvi Jaiswal played an innings of 50 runs in 25 balls for the team. During this, he had hit 22 runs in the first over of the innings to Arshdeep Singh. In this innings, Yashasvi also hit 9 fours and 1 six. Yashasvi also got great support from Vaibhav Suryavanshi at the beginning of the innings for the team. Vaibhav played an explosive innings of 40 runs in 15 balls with the help of 4 fours and 4 sixes.


    After this, Dhruv Jurel tried to keep the hope alive till the last over for the team, but he was out after playing an innings of 53 runs in 31 balls. Apart from Dhruv Jurel, Sanju Samson contributed 20 and Shimron Hetmyer contributed 11 runs from Rajasthan. Talking about bowling, Harpreet Brar took the most three wickets for Punjab. Apart from this, Marco Jensen and Amanatullah Omarzai got 2-2 wickets each.


    Punjab Kings had a bad start in batting


    In this match against Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer decided to bat first after winning the toss. Punjab Kings had a bad start. The team lost three wickets in the powerplay itself, but after that, with the fiery half-centuries of Nehal Wadhera and Shashank Singh, the Punjab Kings team was able to reach a strong score. With the fifties of these two players, Punjab scored a strong score of 219 runs for five wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.


    Punjab had a bad start in the innings and lost three wickets for 34 runs. But after this, three good partnerships took Punjab beyond 200. Nehal hit five fours and five sixes in 70 runs off 37 balls. Captain Shreyas Iyer scored 30 runs with the help of five fours in 25 balls. Shashank hit five fours and three sixes in an unbeaten 59 off 30 balls. Amtullah Omarzai hit three fours and a six in 21 runs off nine balls.
