Samson's Fiery Meltdown: RR Captain Loses Cool After Dismissal, Hurls Bat in Frustration

Mullanpur: Rajasthan Royals defeated Punjab Kings by 50 runs in the 18th match of IPL 2025. In this match, Rajasthan team came out to bat first and put 205 runs on the board. In response, Punjab team could score only 155 runs. There was a time in this match when Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson lost his temper.

    Rajasthan got a good start

On Saturday, in IPL 2025, Punjab Kings won the toss and invited Rajasthan Royals to bat first. Rajasthan had a great start in the match. Captain Sanju Samson, who is returning after injury, and young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal together scored runs quickly in the powerplay. Both shared a 53-run partnership in 6 overs.

Sanju Samson looked in good rhythm and was not in any pain. However, in the 11th over, Lockie Ferguson dismissed Sanju Samson. Samson scored 38 runs in 26 balls. After this, Rajasthan's score was 92 for 1 in 11 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal was playing on 45 and Riyan Parag was supporting him at the crease.

    Then Sanju lost his temper

But, the game changed in the 11th over. New Zealand fast bowler Lockie Ferguson was called to bowl again. Ferguson bowled the ball at a speed of 144.2 kmph. This ball was on the off stump. Sanju Samson tried to hit the ball in the air, but he could not succeed. The speed of the ball caused the bat to spin in his hand.

This caused the ball to not hit properly and Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer took an easy catch at mid-off. Sanju Samson was angry after being dismissed. He threw his bat in the air. He scored 38 runs in 26 balls, including 6 fours. This was an important wicket for Punjab. It stopped Rajasthan's run rate for some time.
