New Delhi: Information about how much property each judge has in the Supreme Court has been made public. The apex court has published information related to the total assets of its judges on the website. Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna has Rs 55.75 lakh in fixed deposits and bank accounts and Rs 1.06 crore in Public Provident Fund (PPF). At the same time, Justice BR Gavai, who will take over as Chief Justice on May 14, has Rs 19.63 lakh in bank accounts and Rs 6.59 lakh in PPF account.
His properties include a two-bedroom DDA flat in South Delhi and a four-bedroom flat in the Commonwealth Games Village. He also has a 56 percent share in a four-bedroom flat in Gurugram, while his daughter owns the remaining 44 percent. Apart from this, he also has a share in a pre-division ancestral house in Himachal Pradesh.
How much property does the new CJI have?
Justice Gavai, who is going to become CJI on May 14, has a house in Amravati, Maharashtra, as well as residential apartments in Mumbai and Delhi. According to the list, he has also inherited agricultural land in Amravati and Nagpur. He has also declared liabilities of Rs 1.3 crore. Information about the property of 21 out of 33 judges was given on the Supreme Court website on Monday night.

Apart from personal holdings, the declared details also include the property of spouse and dependents. Justice A S Oka, who retires on May 24, has assets worth Rs 92.35 lakh in PPF, Rs 21.76 lakh in FD, a 2022 model Maruti Baleno car and a car loan of Rs 5.1 lakh. On April 1, the Supreme Court judges had decided in a meeting to declare their assets and publish it on the court's website.
