"Trump & I Put Country First" – Modi Shares Strong Bond with Former US President

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is friends with US President Donald Trump. Everyone knows this, but to what extent? Prime Minister Modi told such things about his friendship with Trump which probably never came to light before. PM Modi told in American YouTuber Lex Friedman's podcast that how President Trump did not even care about security on his request. PM also told that Trump broke all protocols in the first meeting itself. PM Modi told, 'When I went to the White House for the first time, a lot was published in the media about President Trump. He had just come then. The world saw him in a slightly different form. I was also briefed in various ways. When I reached the White House, he broke all the protocols in the first minute itself.'

Both are patriots, that's why Modi-Trump get along

The Prime Minister said that one of the major reasons for his deep friendship with President Trump is that both are true patriots. Modi said that when he went to the White House during Trump's first term, then it came to know how much respect he has for America and its institutions. He said, 'When he (Trump) started showing me the White House, I was seeing that he did not have any paper in his hand, no slip, no person with him. He was showing me - Abraham Lincoln used to live here. Why is this court so long? What is the reason behind this? Which President signed on this table? He used to speak date wise. It was very impressive for me that how much he respects the institution. How much attachment and respect he has for the history of America. I was experiencing that and he was talking to me very openly. This was my experience of our first meeting.'

Trump kept remembering Modi even after losing the election

Modi told that even after Trump lost the election after his first term, he kept remembering him. He said, 'I saw that when Biden won the election after his (Trump's) first term, it was four years. Someone who knew both of us used to meet him (Trump). In these three-four years, if not, then at least 500 times he must have said - Modi is my friend. Conway my regards (Modi is my friend. You give him mine'

Trump won Modi's heart in Howdy Modi program

The Prime Minister also mentioned the Howdy Modi program organized in Houston to show how he gets along with Trump. He told Friedman, 'I would like to describe an incident. Perhaps you can judge from that what I am talking about. We had a program in Houston - Howdy Modi. The entire stadium was packed to the brim. The presence of so many people is a very big event in the life of America. It is fine in a sports ground, but the presence of so many people in a political rally is a big deal. People from the Indian diaspora had come. So both of us addressed. He (Trump) was sitting down and listening. This is his magnanimity. The President of America is sitting down in the stadium and listening and I am giving a speech from the stage, this is his magnanimity.'

Trump had accepted Modi's words without worrying about security

PM Modi said that he thanked President Trump for this. He said, 'I went down after giving the speech. And we know how much scrutiny America's security goes through. I went to thank President Trump for stopping there. Then I just told him - if you don't mind, let's go around the entire stadium. There are so many people, we will raise our hands and say namaste.'

The Prime Minister said that President Trump did not think for a moment and immediately started walking. Modi said, 'It is almost impossible in American life that an American President walks in a crowd of thousands. Without delaying even a moment, he walked with me in the crowd. The security system of America was completely disturbed. It touched my heart that this person has courage. He takes decisions himself and secondly, he trusts Modi - Modi is taking us, so let's go.'

He is America First, I am India First: Modi

PM Modi described Trump's stance as a symbol of mutual trust. PM Modi said that he and President Donald Trump are always ready to do anything for their respective countries. He said, 'I saw this feeling of mutual trust, such strength in our relationship that day. That day I saw President Trump walking with me amidst thousands of people without asking the security people. If you see the video of that, you will be surprised and when he was shot, in this election campaign, I saw the same President Trump. The Trump who walked holding my hand in that stadium. Even after being shot, living for America, living for America was his reflection because I am a nation first person. He is an America first person, I am an India first person. So our The pair gets along well.
