Vaibhav Suryavanshi Misses Century but Creates 5 Major Records Against Lucknow

In IPL 2026, the bat of Rajasthan Royals' young sensation, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, roared loudly against the Lucknow Super Giants. While chasing a massive target of 221 runs set by Lucknow, Vaibhav Suryavanshi completely dismantled the opposition's bowling attack. Although he missed out on a well-deserved century by a mere 7 runs, his explosive innings of 93 runs off 38 balls powered a formidable comeback for the Rajasthan Royals in the match.

Record for 10 or More Sixes in a Single IPL Innings

Vaibhav Suryavanshi rained sixes during this innings. In terms of hitting 10 or more sixes in a single IPL innings, he has now become the second most successful batsman in the world. He has surpassed Abhishek Sharma in this regard. Chris Gayle tops this list with 4 instances, while Vaibhav Suryavanshi has secured the second spot by achieving this feat 3 times. Following them are Abhishek Sharma and Finn Allen, who have accomplished this remarkable feat twice each.

A Mountain of Runs in the Powerplay

Vaibhav has batted so aggressively during the Powerplay overs this season that he has outshone stalwarts like Sunrisers Hyderabad's Travis Head and Sai Sudharsan. He has become the second-highest run-scorer in the Powerplay overs of a single season. David Warner holds the top spot with 467 runs in 2016, while Vaibhav Suryavanshi has secured the second position in the 2026 season with 426 runs. Travis Head (402 runs) and Sai Sudharsan (402 runs) have now fallen behind him. The Youngest Batsman in IPL History to Complete 500 Runs

During his innings of 93 runs, Vaibhav Suryavanshi also completed his tally of 500 runs in the 2026 IPL season. With this achievement, he has become the youngest batsman in history to cross the 500-run mark in a single IPL season. He has broken an 8-year-old record held by Rishabh Pant, who achieved this feat while playing for the Delhi Daredevils in 2018.

The Most Explosive Strike Rate Among Batsmen with 500+ Runs

This season, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has not only scored over 500 runs, but his style of play has also been exceptionally aggressive. He has become the first batsman in IPL history to score more than 500 runs in a single season while maintaining a strike rate higher than that of any other batsman. He has shattered the 2019 record held by Kolkata Knight Riders' Andre Russell, whose strike rate stood at 205.0.

A Historic Record for the Highest Strike Rate in a Single IPL Season

Redefining all batting benchmarks this season, Vaibhav has claimed the record for the highest strike rate in IPL history. (Based on the minimum criterion of 500 runs scored), Vaibhav Suryavanshi sits at the top with a historic strike rate of 236.3. He is followed by Andre Russell (204.8), Abhishek Sharma (202.0), Nicholas Pooran (196.2), and Travis Head (191.5).
