Waqf Act Protests Turn Violent in Bengal's Murshidabad: Vehicles Torched, Police Clash With Mob

Kolkata: Violence has erupted in West Bengal after the protest against the Waqf Board Amendment Bill. Violence took place during the procession taken out in Murshidabad demanding the withdrawal of the Waqf Board Amendment Bill. According to the information, on Tuesday people were protesting against the Waqf Act in Jangipur, Murshidabad. When the police stopped the protesters, a clash broke out. After this the protesters vandalized the vehicles and set them on fire. The police then lathi-charged and also fired tear gas shells.

    Malviya targets Mamata Banerjee

BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya wrote that West Bengal is in flames again. Communal violence has erupted. This time in Murshidabad, Muslim mobs have taken to the streets in protest against the Waqf Act. Mamata Banerjee has lost control over vast areas of Bengal, which have become inaccessible to the state administration due to unnatural demographic changes and illegal infiltration.

This is the law of the MP...

Malviya has written that now she can do nothing but plead in anticipation of their votes. She will have to go in 2026. When the bill was passed in Parliament, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had said that every state will have to accept it, it is the law of Parliament, however, after the Waqf Board Amendment Bill was passed in Parliament, it has been challenged in the Supreme Court. Trinamool Congress MPs opposed this law in Parliament. Then West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee had said that BJP has brought this law to divide the country.
