New Delhi: President Draupadi Murmu approved the Waqf Amendment Bill. This bill was recently passed by the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. After the President's approval, the Waqf Amendment Bill has now officially become a law.
The landmark legislation - passed by both Houses amid opposition protests - grants the government enhanced oversight of Waqf properties while modernizing management systems for India's 600,000+ Islamic trusts.
