    Weather Update: Rain Hits Delhi, Orange Alert for UP & Tamil Nadu

    Tomorrow's weather 27 May 2025: The mild effect of the storm and heavy rain that came 48 hours ago in Delhi is still visible. The sky is cloudy during the day, which has given relief to the people from the scorching sun. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be thunderstorms again in Delhi on May 30 and 31. The weather will be clear on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. People may face problems due to rising temperature and high humidity levels. On the other hand, there is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms in many parts of the country including UP, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Mumbai tomorrow.


    Orange alert for thunderstorms


    There is once again an orange alert for thunderstorms in Delhi on May 30. Winds can blow at a speed of 50 kilometers per hour. The maximum temperature can be 36 degrees and the minimum 27 degrees. There is also a possibility of thunderstorms on May 31. The maximum temperature can be 36 degrees and the minimum 26 degrees. June will begin with clouds. It will be colder than normal. The maximum temperature can be 36 degrees and the minimum 27 degrees.


    Heavy rain in Mumbai, waterlogging on many roads


    Due to heavy rains in Mumbai on Monday morning, suburban train services between Wadala Road and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) on the Harbour Line of Central Railway were suspended from 10.25 am, while waterlogging is reported in many areas of the metropolis. The forecast said, 'Tomorrow it will be generally cloudy and there is a possibility of light rain with thunder, along with strong winds at a speed of 30 to 40 kmph. Light to moderate rain may occur at isolated places in the city and suburbs. Municipal officials said that IMD Mumbai has forecast light to moderate rain in some parts of the metropolis during the next 24 hours.


    Pre-monsoon and monsoon rains have disrupted life in many parts of the country. Heavy rains and storms wreaked havoc in many states including Delhi, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Rajasthan. Power supply and daily life were badly affected. The India Meteorological Department has issued red and orange alerts in many states.

    IMD has issued a red alert and orange alert in Delhi. Light rain and thundershowers are expected in Delhi today. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum around 20 degrees Celsius. Temperatures may hover around 43-46°C during the week.


    Pre-monsoon rains in Mumbai on May 26 broke a 100-year record. South Mumbai recorded 104 mm rainfall in an hour between 9 am and 10 am, while it received 254 mm rainfall in 12 hours. Colaba recorded the highest May rainfall with 295 mm rainfall. Heavy rains led to waterlogging in Lalbaug, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and other low-lying areas, affecting traffic and local train services. BMC and NDRF teams are engaged in drainage and relief work.


    Maharashtra government minister Girish Mahajan appealed to citizens not to leave home without essential work, especially between 2 pm and 4 pm, as more rain is expected along with strong winds (60-70 km/hr). The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad.


    Traffic system has come to a standstill in Raigad due to torrential rains. Traffic was closed due to waterlogging on the bridge on Neral-Kalamb road. Roads are closed due to Mhasala-Shrivardhan road being submerged and embankment breaking on Sapoli-Hetavane-Gondava Phata road.


    Rain wreaked havoc in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu for the second consecutive day. A speeding car hit an auto on Uppili Palayam road and overturned in a ditch. Locals and Peelamedu fire brigade rescued Manikandan safely and rushed him to the hospital. Singanallur police pulled out the car with the help of a crane and started investigating the accident. Rain in the district caused waterlogging and traffic disruption in many areas.


    In Tamil Nadu, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for districts like Coimbatore, Nilgiris and an orange alert for areas like Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram. Heavy rains and storms have caused waterlogging, traffic disruption, and school-colleges are closed. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea.


    The severe storm also caused havoc in Modasa in Gujarat's Aravalli district. In Sakaria village in the neighbouring state of Rajasthan, trees fell, electricity poles were uprooted and houses were also damaged in the storm that lasted for 8-10 minutes. A years old peepal tree fell at Sakaria station, due to which power supply was disrupted.
