Why India Chose 33 Nations for Anti-Terror Drive Post Operation Sindoor? Strategy Out

New Delhi: After the Pahalgam attack, India has started a big campaign against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. India is sending its seven delegations to 33 countries, which include MPs, leaders and former diplomats of various parties. These delegations will convey the message of India's zero tolerance against terrorism to the concerned countries. They will tell how serious India is to deal with terrorism. This campaign has started from Wednesday (May 21, 2025). Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri has informed these teams of MPs about Operation Sindoor and all the circumstances after that. All the teams will leave by Sunday. The question arises that why has India chosen only 33 selected countries to convey its strong message against terrorism.

Most of the countries in the United Nations Security Council are in 33 countries

BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi is also included in these seven multi-party delegations. According to her, most of the 15 countries that are members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) are also included among the 33 countries. Let us tell you that Pakistan is also a temporary member of it right now, where none of our delegation is going. UNSC has 5 permanent (USA, China, Russia, Britain, France) and 15 temporary countries. Temporary members change every two years.

Next members of the Security Council and other important countries

Apart from most of the member countries of the UNSC, the Indian delegation is also going to visit those five countries, which are soon going to join it as temporary members. Apart from these, the list of 33 countries also includes some countries, whose words are listened to carefully by the world. Sarangi herself is a part of the delegation going to Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan and Singapore, which is being led by JDU MP Sanjay Jha. His team is first going to Japan, which has a special importance on the world stage.

The delegation will meet influential people from 33 countries

The delegation led by Sanjay Jha has nine members including BJP's Sarangi, Brij Lal, Pradan Barua, Hemang Joshi and CPM's John Brittas. TMC's Abhishek Banerjee is also a part of it. Earlier, former cricketer and TMC MP Yusuf Pathan was in this team. During their visit, these teams will meet the top leaders of the respective countries. These include the Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, MPs, opposition leaders, intellectuals, journalists and Indians living there.

Who is leading the delegations

This initiative from India is coming after 'Operation Sindoor', which is being described as a masterstroke of Indian diplomacy. In this operation, the Indian Army attacked 9 terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK). This attack was done in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack on 22 April. These seven delegations will be led by Shashi Tharoor of Congress, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Baijayant Panda of BJP, Sanjay Kumar Jha of JDU, Supriya Sule of NCP (SP), Shrikant Eknath Shinde of Shiv Sena and Kanimozhi of DMK.
