WPL 2025: RCB Eliminated After 12-Run Defeat Against UP Warriorz

RCB's Journey Ends in WPL 2025

WPL 2025 UP Warriorz vs RCB Match Highlights: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team got eliminated from Women's Premier League 2025 (WPL 2025). The team played its 7th league match in the tournament against UP Warriors, in which they lost by 12 runs. This match was the last way for RCB to reach the qualification, which is now over. After this defeat, Smriti Mandhana-led RCB got eliminated from the tournament.

    Match Summary:

    • Match Venue: Ekana Stadium, Lucknow
    • Toss: RCB won and chose to bowl
    • UP Warriorz Score: 225/5 in 20 overs (Highest total in WPL history)
    • RCB Score: 213/10 in 19.3 overs

RCB Made a Mistake at the Beginning of the Match (WPL 2025)

Let us tell you that in the match played at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, RCB won the toss and decided to bowl, which proved to be absolutely wrong for them. UP Warriors, who came to bat first in the match, put up a huge score of 225/5 runs on the board in 20 overs. This was the highest total in the history of WPL.

Richa Ghosh's Innings Went in Vain

Richa Ghosh, the wicketkeeper batsman, played the biggest innings for RCB, while chasing the target, scoring 69 runs in 33 balls with the help of 6 fours and 5 sixes. Richa's strike rate was 209.09. During this, no other batsman could support Richa, due to which her brilliant innings was completely wasted.

    RCB Flopped in Run Chase

RCB, who came to the field for run chase, could not get a very good start. Sabbhineni Meghna and Smriti Mandhana, who came to open for the team, could only add 29 (13 balls) runs for the first wicket. After this, Alice Perry and Sabbhineni Meghna could only share 14 runs (8 balls) for the second wicket. Similarly, the team could not get any big partnership till the fifth wicket.

✅ Richa Ghosh along with Georgia Wareham shared 64 runs (33 balls) for the sixth wicket and raised hopes, but as soon as Richa was out, the team's hopes were shattered again. In this way, the team could only reach 213/10 runs in 19.3 overs.

    RCB's Elimination from WPL 2025

With this 12-run defeat, Smriti Mandhana-led RCB got eliminated from the tournament. This was the seventh and most important match for RCB to stay in the tournament, but the big target and lack of partnerships resulted in their exit from WPL 2025.
