Caste Census: Is Nitish Kumar the Force Behind Modi’s Big Move? Inside Story Before Bihar Polls

Patna: Some people may wonder how Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who talked about 'Ek Hain To Safe Hain', agreed to the caste census? Many arguments were given by the central government in the Supreme Court to avoid caste census. Bihar's caste survey was criticized from the open platform. But now the situation has changed. After getting the caste survey done in Bihar by staying with the Mahagathbandhan, Nitish Kumar is now in Narendra Modi's camp. By the way, many schemes of Bihar have been accepted by the central government on a large scale. Bihar's caste survey has also been included in it.

Nitish at the root of PM Modi's caste survey!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already given the title of 'Bihar's popular and our beloved Chief Minister dedicated to the development of Bihar' to Nitish Kumar. It is being told that Nitish Kumar is at the root of the decision to conduct caste census in the entire country. Along with accepting his old demand, the Narendra Modi government also started efforts to implement it on the ground.

Lalu also staked claim for the credit of caste survey

By the way, RJD supremo Lalu Yadav claims, 'On his advice, the then central government of the United Front had decided to conduct caste-based census in 1996-97. The NDA government formed after that did not implement it.' But, it is also true that during the 10-year rule of Manmohan Singh, Lalu Yadav's party was an important partner in the government and nothing like that happened regarding the caste census.

Caste census is an excuse, the target is reservation?

But, the credit for working on caste census as a mission goes to Nitish Kumar. Nitish Kumar created the environment for this in Bihar, it is a different matter that he was leading the Mahagathbandhan government then. He called an all-party meeting in Bihar and took the consent of all the parties. After this, he went to Delhi with the leaders of all the parties, where he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Finally, the caste survey was done in Bihar, its data was also made public. After this, Nitish government also implemented 65 percent reservation in Bihar. Then later the Supreme Court put a stay on it. But, the Nitish government is working on the data of the poor that was received.

Narendra Modi changed the big issue of Bihar elections in one go

Information came from the caste survey of Nitish government in Bihar that 94 lakh families in the state are extremely poor. To make these families self-reliant, the Bihar government is giving two lakh rupees each. Phase-wise work is going on on this. But, all the work of caste survey and its findings was done when Nitish Kumar was leading the Mahagathbandhan government. Then Nitish Kumar started a campaign to form a coalition of opposition parties across the country so that the Modi government at the center could be defeated in 2024. The INDIA alliance put the caste survey at the top. Rahul Gandhi had made it a mission, now the Modi government at the center has decided to conduct caste census. With this, a major issue of the opposition in the Bihar elections changed in one go.
