Ex-AAP leader criticises Kejriwal’s remarks after acquittal in liquor case

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been acquitted in the Delhi liquor scam. AAP leader Manish Sisodia has also been acquitted in the case.

After being acquitted in the liquor scam, Arvind Kejriwal broke down in tears. Manish Sisodia embraced him and calmed him down. A video of Kejriwal crying has gone viral on social media, sparking a political firestorm.

Former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and political analyst Ashutosh has slammed Kejriwal. In a post on the social media platform X, he wrote, "Kejriwal should avoid theatrics and focus on real issues. He should learn from Rahul Gandhi."

Kejriwal said, "I am a man of staunch integrity." Upon his acquittal, he said, "Kejriwal is not corrupt. I have only earned honesty in my life. They filed a false case, and today it has been proven. The court said, 'Kejriwal is staunchly honest. Manish Sisodia is staunchly honest. The Aam Aadmi Party is staunchly honest.'" He added, "For the past few years, the Bharatiya Janata Party has been involved in liquor scams and accusing us. Today, the court dismissed all the charges. All the accused were acquitted."

Kejriwal said, "We always said that truth prevails. We have faith in the Indian judicial system. I am very grateful to the judge who gave us justice. Truth has prevailed. I always said that God is with us."

    • He said, "PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah together hatched the biggest political conspiracy in independent India." To destroy the Aam Aadmi Party, five of the party's most prominent leaders were jailed.

    • He said that the current Chief Minister was dragged from his home and imprisoned. It was a fake cage, and mud was thrown at us. He said, "If you want power, do good work. The country faces so many major problems. There's inflation, unemployment, broken roads across the country, and pollution everywhere. Come to power by solving those problems. Why file false cases against Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party?"

    • Arvind Kejriwal's wife, Sunita Kejriwal, also reacted to his acquittal. In a post on the social media platform X, she said, "No matter how powerful someone becomes in this world, they can never surpass the power of Shiva. Truth always prevails."
