Parliament on Thursday passed the ‘Viksit Bharat-G Ram Ji Bill, 2025’ amidst protests from the opposition. Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that “the Congress killed Bapu’s ideals, while the Modi government has kept them alive.” Singh

Chauhan said that through the ‘Viksit Bharat-G Ram Ji Bill, 2025’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government is working towards implementing Mahatma Gandhi's ideals and building a developed India on the foundation of developed villages. The bill was discussed for over six hours in the Rajya Sabha. After Minister Chauhan's reply, it was passed by a voice vote. The House rejected several amendment proposals moved by opposition members on the bill. The Lok Sabha had approved the bill earlier in the day.
