Priyanka Chaturvedi meets PM Modi, signals future political direction

New Delhi: The political stance of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi appears to have undergone a noticeable shift in recent days. On Thursday, she met with PM Modi once again. While sharing a photograph of the meeting, she thanked PM Modi—marking the second time she has done so within five days—and offered him praise. However, following this second meeting in five days, she has put an end to the political speculations surrounding her future political path.

Priyanka Chaturvedi stated that she would continue to remain a vocal member of the Opposition, emphasizing that the country requires a strong Opposition. She affirmed, "I will continue to fight for the country and continue to raise my voice."

Priyanka Chaturvedi to Remain in the Opposition!

Posting on the social media platform 'X' (formerly Twitter), she mentioned that the Prime Minister listened to her experiences in the Rajya Sabha and also shared his own thoughts. Priyanka Chaturvedi wrote that this meeting held great significance for her. Furthermore, she clarified that she would continue to serve as a vocal voice within the Opposition, as a strong Opposition is essential for the nation.

"I will remain a vocal member of the Opposition, because the country needs a strong Opposition."

    — Priyanka Chaturvedi

Priyanka Chaturvedi asserted that she would continue to speak out consistently on issues of national interest and would remain dedicated to working for the country. She concluded her post with the slogans, "Jai Maharashtra, Jai Hind."

Prior to this, on March 29, Priyanka Chaturvedi had shared a photograph with PM Modi in which she recounted the moment of her dignified farewell from the Rajya Sabha. She wrote on social media that when the Prime Minister himself bids farewell to a member of Parliament, it becomes an incredibly special and memorable moment for that individual. Prior to this, about seven months ago, Priyanka Chaturvedi—a leader of the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction)—met with PM Modi; she had also shared photographs of this meeting on social media.

Given Priyanka Chaturvedi's repeated meetings with PM Modi and her social media posts, speculation is mounting that she might be poised to bring about a major political realignment.

    Priyanka Chaturvedi's Political Journey

April 2 marked the final day of Priyanka Chaturvedi's current tenure in the Rajya Sabha. She entered the political arena in 2010 through the Congress party, where she served for nine years. In 2019, she left the Congress to join the Shiv Sena (undivided). Subsequently, in 2020, the party nominated her to the Rajya Sabha.
