Virat Kohli set to play one more Vijay Hazare match before NZ series

New Delhi: Virat Kohli participated in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Delhi after almost 16 years. He scored a century against Andhra Pradesh. He then scored 77 runs before being dismissed in the match against Gujarat. After playing two matches at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, Virat left the team. He did not play the third match against Baroda. But now there are reports that Virat will play one more match for Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Virat Kohli to play against Railways

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli will also play in the sixth match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Delhi. This match is scheduled to be played against Railways in Bengaluru on January 6. Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) president Rohan Jaitley confirmed this on Monday. Speaking to PTI, DDCA president Rohan Jaitley said, "Currently, he is playing. Virat has made himself available for three matches."

Series against New Zealand from January 11

The BCCI had made it mandatory for all centrally contracted players to play at least two matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. This is why players like Virat and Rohit played in the tournament. Virat Kohli has played two matches but wants to play one more match before the ODI series against New Zealand. The ODI series between India and New Zealand is scheduled to begin on January 11. The first match will be played in Vadodara.

    Virat's 50+ scores in 6 consecutive matches

After the IPL, Virat Kohli was away from the field for a long time. He returned in Australia and failed to score in the first two ODIs. In the last match of the series, he scored an unbeaten fifty. After that, he scored two centuries and a half-century in the series against South Africa. He also scored a century and a half-century in both the Vijay Hazare Trophy matches. This means that in the last 6 matches, he has scored three centuries and three half-centuries.
