    Waqf Bill Triggers JDU Revolt: Senior Muslim Leader Qasim Ansari Quits Over 'Betrayal'

    Patna: The Waqf Amendment Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha late night. JDU, which is part of the NDA, supported it, after which voices of protest have started rising in the party. JDU leader Dr. Mohammad Qasim Ansari has resigned from all his posts in protest against the support of the bill. He sent his resignation to Nitish Kumar and criticized the party's stand. Let us tell you that Lallan Singh had supported the bill in the Lok Sabha, due to which Ansari and many Muslim workers are hurt.


    Resigned from the party

    JDU senior leader Dr. Mohammad Qasim Ansari has resigned from all the posts of the party. He has sent his resignation to JDU national president and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He has written in his resignation that he and crores of Indian Muslims had faith in Nitish Kumar. They considered him a supporter of secular ideology, but now their trust has been broken.



    Criticism of party's stand


    Qasim Ansari has criticized JDU's stand on the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024. He said that this has hurt him and lakhs of dedicated Indian Muslims and workers. He also said that he is deeply hurt by the way Lallan Singh spoke in the Lok Sabha and supported the bill.


    What did Lallan Singh say in the Lok Sabha


    JDU MP and Panchayati Raj Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lallan Singh had spoken on behalf of the party in the Lok Sabha. He had said that his party fully supports the Waqf (Amendment) Bill. He also said that opposition parties are spreading wrong things about this bill and trying to spoil the atmosphere of the country.
