Amit Shah Launches ₹500 Cr Intelligence Hub to Tackle Terror, Cyber Threats

New Delhi: A new Multi Agency Center (MAC) has been built in North Block in view of the present times and to deal with serious threats like terrorism, extremism, organized crime and cyber attacks in a modern way. It was inaugurated on Friday by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. IB, CBI, Delhi Police, BSF, CISF, CRPF, All State Police and all other agencies have been connected in this center. This new center, built at a cost of about Rs 500 crore in place of the earlier center, will also play an important role in how the concerned agencies have to work in coordination on the inputs received, apart from exchanging intelligence information.


Excellent coordination of security forces in the operation

On this occasion, Home Minister Amit Shah said that recently there was excellent coordination of security forces in the historic anti-Naxal operation conducted by the Central Paramilitary Forces in the Karregutta hill of Chhattisgarh-Telangana border. The same coordination was also seen during Operation Sindoor. This shows that there is much better coordination in the process and thinking of carrying out the work by our intelligence agencies and the three armed forces.


Current national security challenges

He said that the new MAC will coordinate the efforts of all agencies together to deal with the complex and interconnected current national security challenges. The new network will strengthen the country's efforts to deal with serious threats like terrorism, extremism, organized crime and cyber attacks. He also emphasized that the important databases that various central agencies have. They should also be linked to this platform. So that all agencies can take advantage of the new MAC.


The quality of data analysis will be better

The quality of data analysis generated by the new system will be better. This will make trend analysis accurate. Along with mapping the hotspots, timeline analysis will also be possible. The new MAC platform will prove to be very far-reaching in fighting the terror ecosystem, which is deeply connected to organized crime. Although the old MAC system has been in existence since 2001, the new MAC system has been prepared with all the modern tools keeping in mind the challenges of the changing times.
