Amit Shah predicts BJP victory in Bengal with big majority in 2026

Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a press conference in Kolkata. Welcoming everyone, he said that this day is a day of pride for all Indians. He reminded everyone that on this day in 1943, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose hoisted the Indian tricolor flag in Port Blair.

Amit Shah further said that assembly elections are going to be held in West Bengal in April. He criticized the TMC's 15-year rule, saying that during this period, Bengal was ruled by fear, corruption, and misgovernance, leaving the people feeling fearful and terrorized.

Amit Shah said this:

He said that the time from now until April is very important for Bengal, and the people are ready to form a government free from fear and misgovernance. Amit Shah also assured that if a BJP government is formed in Bengal under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a wave of development will begin here. Amit Shah said that special grids will be created to stop infiltration in Bengal, and infiltrators will be identified and expelled.

Amit Shah said that after April 15, 2026, with the formation of a BJP government, a new era of renaissance will begin. He said that Bengal is very important for the BJP and in the 2026 assembly elections, the BJP will form the government with a two-thirds majority.

Mention of electoral success and strong base

Amit Shah also mentioned the BJP's past election results. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, they received 17 percent of the votes and 2 seats, in the 2017 assembly elections, 10 percent of the votes and 3 seats, and in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and the 2021 assembly elections, they secured the position of the main opposition. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP received 39 percent of the votes and 12 seats.

Comments on infiltration and national security

Amit Shah accused the Mamata government of failing to stop infiltration. He said that stopping infiltration has now become a matter of national security and only the BJP can stop it.

Raised the issues of corruption and women's safety

He leveled serious allegations of corruption against the Mamata government. He said that crores of rupees are being embezzled from the residences of ministers and leaders, and there is no accountability. Amit Shah called women's safety a major issue, saying that mothers, sisters, and daughters are fed up with the insecurity.

Expressed concern over Bengal's economy and schemes

Amit Shah said that Bengal's GDP contribution has fallen from the third position to the 22nd, and all development schemes have stalled due to corruption, infiltration, and extortion. He accused the Mamata government of neglecting the interests of the people and said that the Mamata government's departure is now certain.

Leveled serious allegations against the TMC government

BJP President Amit Shah said that there is a syndicate rule in Bengal and the atmosphere here is hostile. He said that under Mamata Banerjee's rule, one has to pay a share of their earnings, and the appointment of the DGP is arbitrary.

Amit Shah alleged that BJP workers are being murdered in Bengal, and development schemes are stalled due to corruption, infiltration, and extortion. He said that injustice is being done to the poor because while the poor across the country are getting free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh, this facility is not being provided in Bengal.

He said that the politics of violence and vendetta in Bengal will now end. So far, 300 BJP workers have been killed, and more than 3000 workers are forced to live displaced lives. Amit Shah also said that the TMC government has been anti-Centre.
