“I Will Not Go to Rajya Sabha”: Arvind Kejriwal Ends Buzz After Punjab By-Poll Victory

New Delhi: After the victory in the by-elections in Gujarat along with Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party is looking very excited. This is an opportunity for the party to be happy after the defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections. Meanwhile, after the victory of the party's candidate and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora in the by-election in Punjab, speculation intensified in political circles whether Arvind Kejriwal will now go to Rajya Sabha. Actually, after becoming an MLA, Sanjeev Arora will have to resign from the Rajya Sabha membership. Meanwhile, AAP's national convener and party chief Kejriwal has completely put an end to these speculations.

Who will be the candidate in place of Arora?

Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Monday that he will not go to Rajya Sabha. He said this after the party's current Rajya Sabha member Sanjeev Arora won the by-election held on Ludhiana West assembly seat in Punjab. Kejriwal was asked in a press conference who the party will nominate in place of Arora.

Who will take the decision?

In response to this question, Kejriwal said, "I want to tell you that I am not going to Rajya Sabha. The party's political affairs committee will decide who will be made the candidate." Opposition parties have claimed that Aam Aadmi Party supremo Kejriwal will go to the Upper House in place of Arora. Earlier, speculations were rife that the party could send former CM Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia or Satyendra Jain, who was a minister in the Delhi government, to the Upper House on Arora's vacant seat.
