New Delhi: After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the Government of India has taken a tough stand and started decisive action against terrorism. Security forces are continuously conducting search operations in Jammu and Kashmir, while the NIA is engaged in an in-depth investigation of the matter. Meanwhile, a series of meetings of top officials related to defense and security are also going on.
On Sunday, Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan reached the residence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh for an important meeting. According to sources, this meeting focuses on the strategy to eliminate terrorists and strengthen the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. On the other hand, Border Security Force (BSF) Director General Daljit Singh Chaudhary reached the Home Ministry, where the ongoing operations against terrorism and border security were discussed.
Search operation and NIA investigation
After the Pahalgam attack, security forces have intensified search operations in the forests and sensitive areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Several suspects have been detained, and the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) are jointly conducting operations to search for terrorists. A special team of NIA has also reached Pahalgam, which is engaged in unearthing the conspiracy and terrorist network behind the attack.
Strict decisions against Pakistan
The Indian government has already taken several strict steps in view of the responsibility taken by the terrorist organization TRF associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba in the Pahalgam attack and the suspected connection of Pakistan. These include suspending the Indus Water Treaty of 1960, closing the Attari border checkpost, stopping visa services for Pakistani citizens, and ordering Pakistani diplomats present in India to leave the country within 48 hours. Apart from this, India has also decided to close its embassy in Islamabad.
