Dhaka/New Delhi: Bangladesh's ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed grief and anger over the barbaric terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. She has categorically condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack and declared solidarity with India against terrorism. Sheikh Hasina has taken refuge in India since August last year. Her statement has been shared on the social media handle of the Awami League. Hasina is seen as a pro-India leader. The interim government of Bangladesh led by Mohammad Yunus has also condemned the Pahalgam attack.
What Sheikh Hasina said
The Awami League wrote on Twitter, "Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has strongly condemned and protested the heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. In her statement, she expressed deep sorrow and condolences to the victims of this barbaric attack and wished the injured a speedy recovery. The Awami League President said that terrorists want to stop the progress of humanity-they are the biggest enemies of human civilization."
Reiterated commitment against terrorism
She further wrote, "The Bangladesh Awami League has always stood firmly against terrorism based on its core principles and ideology. We extend unwavering support to humanitarian political values around the world. The terrorist attack in Kashmir is a serious threat to the creation of a humane world and a deep wound on the heart of human civilization. The Bangladesh Awami League will continue to extend full support to the global struggle against these extremist forces. We demand that those responsible for such barbaric attacks be brought to justice."
Hasina strongly condemns terrorism
She further said that Bangladesh Awami League maintains a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism and extremism. Our commitment lies in building a humane society, state and world by promoting solidarity among people. We clearly and strongly condemn such acts of terrorism.
